News-Port

Each year, the Circulation(s) festival presents a panorama of emerging European photographic creation. Its program is partly organized by an annual call for applications from all photographers, without any age or background criteria. From the applications received, the Fetart artistic the committee determines a pre-selection, which is then submitted to a jury composed of the festival's partners.

From this year on, the call for applications for the Circulation(s) festival opens with an early bird rate, reduced by half compared to the full rate, which is also reduced. The Fetart collective wishes to make the festival more and more accessible to everyone throughout Europe, and will continue this
a significant step for an associative economy such as its own.

The next edition of the Circulation(s) festival will take place from 25 March to 21 May 2023 at the

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS 2023
Circulation(s)
Festival of Young European Photography
As a springboard for artists and a trend-setter, Circulation(s) is a reflection of the European contemporary art scene and a must-attend event for the photography of tomorrow. For the past 12 years, it has brought together a large public as well as professionals around a multiform,
an adventurous and innovative program that questions the boundaries between photography and contemporary art.
The artistic direction of the projects is ensured by the artistic committee of the Fetart collective, composed of 10 independent curators specializing in emerging photography.

The Circulation(s) festival takes place at the CENTQUATRE-PARIS, a cultural place in eastern Paris, and continues in the form of tours and off-site events in France and Europe. Since its creation in 2011, the festival has exhibited more than 500 artists and brought together more than 300,000
visitors with an ever-stronger desire to be both a popular and demanding event.

An original collective curatorial approach
Since 2005, the Fetart collective has been defending and promoting young European photography. Founder and artistic director of the Circulation(s) festival, Fetart defends atypical photography, free and open to dialogue beyond artistic, geographical, and political borders.
The Fetart collective relies on a permanent team, and an artistic committee and brings together a community of passionate volunteers with varied expertise. The artistic direction is provided by the collective's artistic committee, composed of 10 independent curators specializing in emerging photography. All of them are driven by common convictions and vision: an unconditional commitment to emergence, an interest in exploring the new European scene, a commitment and support for young photographers, and a desire to innovate and challenge. This artistic committee constitutes a unique space for exchange, protean and non-hierarchical, which gives full place to the gaze of others. This plasticity, horizontality, and inclusiveness are the strength and uniqueness of the festival's programming.

It is a space for residencies, production, and diffusion for audiences and artists from around the world. Designed as a collaborative artistic platform, it provides access to the whole range of contemporary arts, through a resolutely popular, contemporary, and demanding program. Each year, more than 380 artistic teams are welcomed in residence, including visual artists, musicians, dancers, actors, and circus artists. It is also a place to live with shops and spaces dedicated to amateur artistic practices and early childhood. For the start-ups that integrate its incubator, it is a territory of experimentation, at the crossroads of art and innovation. Moreover, with an urban planning approach, its cultural engineering team provides unique expertise for projects around the world. www.104.fr
