Der in Hamburg lebende Musiker und Komponist Leon Gurvitch feiert die Welturaufführung seiner Oboen-Sonate heute Abend im Kennedy Center in Washington D.C./USA.
Mitglieder des "Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra" spielen gemeinsam mit Igor Leschishin (Oboe), das im August 2008 komponierte Werk. Ab 23:00 Uhr MEZ kann man das Konzert im Livestream sehen und hören.

World premiere: Members of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra perform Leon Gurvitch’s Oboe Sonata on March 25, 2009 (6.00 p.m.) on the Millenium Stage of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. (USA). Solo oboe will be performed by the principle oboe of the Orchestra Igor Leschishin.

The Oboe Sonata was composed by Leon Gurvitch in August 2008 as a tribute to his oboe professor at the Belarussian State Academy of Music, Prof. Dr. Boris V. Nichkov on occasion of his 70th anniversary. The European premiere of the sonata is planned to take place in Germany & Belarus .
