The International Association of Art Critics (AICA) launched its Second Incentive Prize for Young Art Critics, in conjunction with the 8th Bienal do Mercosul (10 September - 15 November 2011) and the 6th Ventosul - Bienal de Curitiba (18 September - 20 November 2011).

Writers aged between 18 and 35, resident in Latin America (South and Central America and Mexico) are invited to submit a review of between 1000 and 2000 words of each of the two Biennales as well as for the option of a comparison of both Biennales, in one of AICA’s official languages (English, French, Spanish).

The Prize will consist of a fare-paid invitation to participate in the next AICA Congress towards the end of 2012 (place and dates to be confirmed) and deliver a short paper there, on one of the themes of the Congress. The winning review, as well as other approved reviews, will be published on the AICA site.

The prizewinner will also be offered free AICA membership (including membership card and annual stamp) for a period of three years.

Candidates must grant AICA full copyright clearance on their texts, regardless of whether or not these have already been published or are published by a third party, at some future date. (AICA will not stand in the way of the subsequent publication or reproduction of any text, subject to due acknowledgment).

The jury will consist of the 4 members of the Fellowship Commission, as follows: Tineke Reijnders, Chair (NL), Yacouba Konaté (Open Section), Henry Meyric Hughes (UK), and Irini Savvani (Greece) with Maite Beguiristain (Open Section) and Lisbeth Rebollo (Brazil).
